Arcs has no data servers. The intelligence and processing stay on your device. If you enable sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud account, tied to your Apple ID.
What happens on your device
Recording, transcription, structured summaries, Threads, Next and Build use the hardware in front of you. This is why the core experience continues in Flight Mode.
What CloudKit does
CloudKit is Apple’s system for securely syncing app data through iCloud. When sync is enabled, your arcs can move between your iPhone, iPad and Mac without passing through an Arcs data server.
If sync is off
Your data stays on the device where it was created. You can control sync in Settings.
Diagnostics are different from content
Arcs may use anonymous crash and performance diagnostics to keep the app stable. These diagnostics do not contain the recordings, transcripts, notes, files or finished work inside your arcs. See the privacy policy for the complete legal description.
